apibrėžtis Sporto institucija, teikianti ir propaguojanti žinias apie krepšinį, ugdanti praktinius žaidėjų bei trenerių įgūdžius. Ji nuolat rengia seminarus, sporto stovyklas, pirmiausia jauniesiems pasaulio krepšininkams. Įkurta 1983 m. Jugoslavijos mieste Puloje. Steigėjai – Tarptautinė krepšinio federacija, Pasaulio krepšinio trenerių asociacija, Jugoslavijos olimpinis komitetas ir Jugoslavijos krepšinio asociacija. Nuo 1992 m., pripažinus Kroatijos Respubliką, Tarptautinė krepšinio akademija tapo Kroatijos olimpinio komiteto ir Kroatijos krepšinio federacijos padaliniu. Joje darbuojasi garsūs studentų krepšinio treneriai B. Knightas, D. Phelpsas, M. Crzyewski iš JAV, A. Belovas iš Rusijos, M. Novoselas, K. Čosičius iš Kroatijos ir kt.
